Base 2 Space

Seattle’s Most Iconic stair climb in support of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

Have you ever wanted to chance to climb the Space Needle’s 832 “open-air” stairs? Join us for this rare opportunity - it’s all for Base 2 Space: Seattle’s Most Iconic Climb and the Space Needle Foundation’s leading fundraising event benefiting Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Space Needle Foundation. The Space Needle Foundation is proud to support Fred Hutch, a world-renowned organization dedicated to eliminating cancer and other related diseases. As a component of the Seattle Foundation, the Space Needle Foundation is committed to elevating our collective future by supporting organizations who are at the forefront of transforming lives and make a positive difference in the Puget Sound region.

We are unable to host Base 2 Space in-person this year due to the ongoing global pandemic. We will host the traditional climb in the future. Visit www.base2spaceseattle.com for more information and to learn more about the Base 2 Space Challenge in 2020!

Round-up at the Needle

Make your pennies go further!

Guests who visit the Space Needle’s retail store, Spacebase, have the opportunity to round-up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to the foundation’s featured charity partner. Thanks to our generous guests and passionate Team Members, the Space Needle Foundation donated more than $140,000 since the program started in 2017. Round-up at the Needle beneficiaries include: Seattle Children’s Hospital, YouthCare, Friends of the Children and our current partner, The Nature Conservancy.

The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. All donations raised through Round-up at the Needle will support their ambitious mission to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. Founded in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has grown to impact conservation in 79 countries and territories across six continents. To learn more or make a donation, visit www.nature.org.
