Things to Do Recommendations

Golden Age Collectables

If you’re looking for something to fill an afternoon, I recommend stopping by Golden Age Collectables (and all the other shops) at Pike Place Market! Once you are worn out from that, Post Alley, right next to the market has so many great food options.

Discovery Park

I love Discovery Park this time of year. There are great hiking trails that will take you from forested areas all the way to a lighthouse on the beach. It's amazing to have something like this so close to the city. You'll need a car to get there from the Space Needle. If you don't have access to a car, you can get there from Seattle Center by taking the 24 or 33 bus and then walking about 20 minutes.

The Burke Museum

The Burke Museum is one of Seattle's gems. They collaborate with local tribes to accurately represent the culture and history of our native peoples. The museum has recently been remodeled and now offers lots of interactive exhibits. There are labs where you can watch people at work. A great experience for young and old! The first Thursday of the month is free. They do recommend getting your tickets online before you go to avoid the lines.

Wings Over Washington- Seattle's Flying Theater

I highly recommend Wings Over Washington! As someone who's taken relatives and friends there four times, I can vouch that it's an amazing and super cool flying theater ride. It perfectly captures the beauty of the state, making it an ideal activity for visitors looking to explore Washington's landscapes without breaking a sweat. It's especially great in the summer because the simulated flight provides a refreshing escape from the heat, offering stunning aerial views of Washington's natural wonders. And the best part? You'll feel a cool water spray as you "fly" over waterfalls, which is refreshing! It's the perfect way to beat the heat without needing a popsicle!

The Puyallup Tribe World Cup Celebrations

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians, who have lived on the shores of the Salish Sea since time immemorial, are co-sponsoring the FIFA World Cup in Seattle. This is the first time ever that an Indigenous Sovereign Nation has been represented at the World Cup.
For those of us who settled in the Pacific Northwest more recently, It’s both an honor and a privilege to be given the opportunity to share this unique experience with our Puyallup hosts and neighbors. Their sponsorship of these games on a worldwide stage is a testament to the same hospitality that has led them to be known as the “generous and welcoming” people of the Salish Sea for thousands of years.
Starting in June, The Puyallup Tribe will host both modern and traditional celebrations to welcome visitors from around the world to the Puget Sound region, including a Pow-wow, a stick-game tournament, and watch parties for the soccer matches.
