Mark your calendar! Our 4th annual Base 2 Space stair climb will be Sunday, September 30, 2018. Registration will open in late April.

Seattle’s Most Iconic Climb

Gather your friends and family, lace up on your best running shoes, and climb the Space Needle’s stairs as part of our 4th annual Base 2 Space stair climb! Taking one of two intertwining, open-air stairwells, climbers will ascend 832 stairs to the Observation Deck located 520’ above ground. During the climb, participants will be able to look out at downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, Lake Union and all of the area’s surrounding beauty as the Space Needle’s elevators glide up and down the tower. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center will receive 100% of all donations raised.

This year’s climb just got a bit more iconic! The Space Needle is currently undergoing a $100 million renovation, which will focus on the preservation and renovation of the 55-year old icon. Our 2018 Base 2 Space climbers will be some of the first guests to experience the tower’s first-of-its rotating glass floor and floor-to-ceiling, 360-degree Observation Deck experience.
